First off, let me make clear... I'm in no position to buy a spindle moulder, but I'm looking about because you can still dream about having a fully functional home workshop, which one day I will have! I was just looking on ebay today after reading the review on the benchtop axminster p/t and gathered the opinion that to buy second hand for the same price might buy me a much more heavyweight machine. They just a bit of TLC and they could be a right bargain to be had!

Then I though about spindle moulders, while some are big machines and cheap second hand, I spotted a benchtop spindle moulder. This one:

I doesn't look to me to have the same capabilities of industrial ones, which is probably to be expected. However there doesn't appear to be any pressure guards for it either. Does anybody here own something similar and what is their verdict on this one? What is its capabilities and what sort of work do you do with this? Windows? Or much smaller stuff?

You could keep an eye out for the Kity multi machines (i.e. K5) - they have a small spindle moulder on them. And just not use the other parts.

Or keep an eye out for standalone Kity spindle moulder.
