    Hi all thanks for the info, I have the wood toxic data base, I made the made the mistake of going on line and scared my self lol Just turning some pine poss yellow pine as it is full of sap. One piece cracked 3/4 way through so that was thrown in the wood burner pile.

    Did you use a spinal Chuck /jaws for the trees? Those bows made from road kill were a step out of my comfort zone.     Road kill I picked up a chunk of silver Burch that was in the middle of the road, did a rough turn to remove the bark and knots After that I coated it with pva on the o/s edge then left it to dry. Today I cut it in half and made these, some nice pattens .

    What to add to my turning tool collection?

    Give the handles a wipe over with linseed oil…. REM to allow a few days so it’s dry I see a nice selection of tools there. Nice restorations

    just bought this for use in the workshop

    I finally decided to get a “proper” vac for the workshop, my leaf vac conversion is ok for the wood thicknesses but sanding dust from lathe work .... So I got something that goes down to half micron, it’s made a huge difference in the workshop
