    lathe vibration

    Check the adjustment of the main bearing you can undo a lock ring then rotate the bearing to tighten it up and re lock this removes side to side play. It can also help to support the motor (block of wood ) to get rid of vibration.

    DVD on VISTA

    I think i have solved this withhttp://www.codecpackguide.com/klcodec.htm downloading 3.1.0 standard just put in a dvd and told vista to use klcodec and it worked, of course you get the fight between media players for file types but it is easy to set.

    To refinish boards a planer/thicknesser or a drum sander m/c will do it but one piece of steel and your in trouble .Ply comes in 4 & 6mm thick so you could have tongues cut and route grooves in the board edge. Any board cupping will give you problems and shims will be required to keep floor...

    T/P problems

    Is it easy to turn by hand check with both the clutch engaged to drive the feed rollers and with it disengaged, if its hard to turn it will trip out on start up .However if its blowing main fault circuit breaker then its faulty and time to call a electrician or FOX.

    This job is a good example for every one, you found out the technical requirements identified the specific site problems came up with solutions then worked hard to make a permanent job.     workshop location problem.

    Remove the raised bed it has no strength slab the area beading slabs with plenty of mortar or cast a base then build shed. The forces applied to foundations are directly vertical there is no side force.
