I have a Fox F22-565 thick/planer which is now tripping out the house electrics (380v tri-phase) as I press the start button.
About a week ago I was in the process of planing down pieces of oak for staircase treads when a piece jammed the machine. I think this was due to the blades going off.
At the time I felt the motor casing and it was a little on the hot side. However, after a little time for it to cool a bit, I tried the machine and it started OK (last year I managed to burn out the motor on a SIP site saw and I was beginning to assume the worst for the T/P).
I am afraid that my comprehension of electrics is minimal (at best), so has anyone out there any idea of cause/solution to this? [/list]

Is it easy to turn by hand check with both the clutch engaged to drive the feed rollers and with it disengaged, if its hard to turn it will trip out on start up .However if its blowing main fault circuit breaker then its faulty and time to call a electrician or FOX.

I should have said in first post:
I have tried turning the spindle from the motor by hand and it turns easily, also tried turning by grabbing the belt drive and that turns everything easily also, so it's not a question of the motor being siezed(?), that's with cutter block engaged and disengaged.
I was wondering if the machine has a heat cut out which now needs to be reset, or if the switch itself is the little rascal that needs attention?
The electrics on the house are 380v 3 phase, no convertors. It is a radial (French) system with each socket having it's own cutout switch. I have a distribution box in the workshop just for the power there, but when the machine trips out, it actually trips out the main box for the whole house as well as the workshop box, but not the individual switch.
I am somewhat confused (not difficult in my case!)
Thanks for your time gents.
