en suites and bathroom sizes

Does anyone have any thoughts as to sizing for these?

Minimum size that one can get away with, for example? With/without a bath?

When my Mum and Dad had the war damage repaired on the house in the late 1940s, my Mum's father paid for the bathroom to be done up. Included in that work was a bidet. Most people in Britain in those days hadn't seen a bidet before and we got so fed up explaining to visitors what it was that we started making up stories about what it was for. Wish we had thought of the welly boot washer - or maybe you do think that's what it's for, Senior :lol:

I have been working on bathroom sizes because we are thinking of knocking through our existing bathroom to enlarge our kitchen, anyway our main bathroom would need to go into the back of the garage (got my eye on the front end of the garage for a small workshop!)
I came up with 2.4m wide by 2.2m long this would give room for a separate good-sized shower and standard bath. as well as the WC & wash basin. I did manage to get it down to 2.4m x 2.0m but I had to put in a corner bath & the room looked too cramped!

I am in the process of having an extension, extra bedroom, ensuite and bigger bathroom, I know you can fit it all in in 2.2 x 2.4 because that was the size of our old bathroom but everything is so cramped, hence the reason for bigger bathroom now a magnificent 4.2 x 3.2.

you can get a shower, loo and basin in about 900x2700 which suits dividing off the end og a large bedroom see the one with green mosaic here or about 1600x1600 in a corner with the door at 45degrees. Or this was about 1350x2000

One of the best places to get ideas for compact rooms is to look at Ideal Standards Space and small range scroll down a bit.
