    Disc sanders

The problem is that they already have it and are "testing it" to see if it falls within the specifications that they are currently trying to find... I'm getting slightly pineappled off with the customer service TBH.

    Disc sanders

Well they had the engineer check it over.. Sounds like they are looking for an excuse not to do anything about it to me...

    Disc sanders

I recently bought a disc sander from a well known manufacture.... But the sanding plate doesn't seem to be rotating perfectly flat. So is this normal for disc sanders, can I easily fix it, should I send it back. Currently it only seems to be showing sanding marks on one half - so the other...

what finish can I expect from a band saw?

While I agree that the finish could be better, saying that you should only use a 14tpi on 6mm or less is somewhat puzzling. I cut through 9" of walnut last week without problems. Its a Bandsaw. Its designed to cut thick material. If your cutting 6mm then use a table or scroll saw.

Setting up small workshop, advice needed

That planer will need at least 1m width of space to accommodate the tables when swung out for thicknessing on one side and the Fence support which sticks out the other side. That gives you just 2.2m width left to play with. I Believe that some makes make better use of the width but can't be...

Any good ideas for fitting bed bolts?

Last time I went into bed shop where they use these, i found at least one bed where the bolt has split the rail end..and they hadn't even been used yet! Couldn't you use a different method?

    Quick D&M Show Report

Didn't look at bigger machine prices to tell the truth as it was beyond my budget. I think the 300x was £399. They did have at least 3 larger machines on show (Larger than 300X that is) as well as a few big Startright saws. I expect some of them had show offers as well but can't be sure - sorry

Slaps head Now I re-read that I realise that I did say hello. You or your colleague showed me round the Tritan router table and the 1400W router - not to mention the jig . I was the chap in green jacket (one of many) :D

    Quick D&M Show Report

A fair number of people when I walked in at noon. Record had a good show of lathes and machines but would have been nice to see a little more from the range of smaller companies. i.e Kreg had its pocket hole stuff but could have had a little more room and put out its router table range and...

    cable for netgear aol

So this router is connected to the PC via a network cable? And you have gone through the setup manual to get it set up correctly or use the CD that came with it. Does it have lights on the router. Are they all green? IS the "connected to the internet" one lit up? ..heh sry about all the questions.

    cable for netgear aol

As Alan says. If its asking you for a dial up tone it sounds a little like the old 56k modem software. Are you using a USB modem (small 3" box) or a router (larger 8"+) because if its the latter then you can check it directly by entering the routers own 'set up page' Its information held in...

    Shell Auger

I bought a shell auger last year but I haven't as yet had the opportunity to use it in anger till today but it doesn’t seem to want to cut anything at all. Here’s a picture of the cutting tip. Is this the right sort of shape for the cutting edge or would I be better off trying to modify it it...

    New turnings.

No just a tad older than 18 yrs ...add 22 and you will be there. That was the first thing i did after testing all my tools on a scrap bit of wood. Having said that the original design was a little fatter - the first profile had to be abandoned after a few dig-ins

    New turnings.

I have been thinking about getting into turning for a fair few years but had never the space or funds until now (and a significant birthday!!) .I haven't done any turning since a bit at school - we were lucky enough to have a couple of old woodturning lathes in the school workshop so we all had...
