I've had an old westminster chime clock movement in my shed for years waiting for me to make a case for it.

With my new found interest in Intarsia and newly kitted out workshop I figured it was about time to get on with it.

So, here it is....

The intarsia looks good phill, but I would love to see a few closer images of that and the case if you can manage it and details of the intarsia.

As promised, warts and all!

I like the scroll saw work on the bird and branch. Haven't seen many that sit out on a flat background like that. Very effective. Really like it

Thank you.

The bird/branch is a combination of the Chickadee on a branch and Robin patterns from two issues of Scrollsaw woodworking.

SWMBO likes robins and neither of us had heard of a chickadee so then combination was made.

Did you freehand route those rebates inside the doors? :)

What makes you say that

I have a router table but the wood leapt about all over the place when I was trying to cut it!

I haven't used the router in months (maybe even a year) so I blamed the cutter as the steel parts of the bits had a bit of surface rust.

In hindsight (alway handy) I've realised that I was feeding it past the router the wrong way round so that the cutter was pushing the wood away from the fence rather than against it.

I may well make a new window for the clock some time but must confess was getting a bit fed up of the case by this time and thought, sod it no-one can see this when it is shut.

The poor routing was my main reason for my comment to Alexam about sharing more photos.

I guess I'm never going to be a cabinet maker :( :D
