Well, he didn't look concerned when he payed for it all!! :D

I reckon his thinking was along the lines of, "bugger it, we could all be sucked in to a black hole on Wednesday, this could be my last chance!"

Think I had a bit of a headrush. Though I managed to justify it the jig and the plane (to myself) as necessary to build a jewellery box for my mothers 60th, the tormek being a replacement for the jet I sent back last week.

And yes, if we do get sucked into a black hole I'll have the leigh jig in one hand and the clifton plane in the other :D

I'm starting my holiday in France on Wednesday - does that count as a black hole??

Was good to meet so many of you again - the rain made things "interesting"!
Olly - yes, spotted you. Next time I'll get ya!
'Til the next one..
Philly :D

Well I made it down on Friday, lots of wet stuff. :(
I met Alex of CHT on the way in, he had just spent time rigging up a tarpaulin to stop the drips that the roof was letting through. :x
I spent some hours wandering around, not aimlessly, lots of nice timber and loads of tools. :D

I met up with Philly and Waka, sorry gents no pictures of you but I have a few of Phills latest productions, Phillyshaves

The main reason for going was to buy yet more wood and having selected some for myself I then picked up a board for Toscageoff he was after some Jatoba. I thought at first I was not going to be able to get the required size of board as Geoff needed some 6' long and the first rack with Jatoba in only had boards 5'4". But when I ask the chap who was cutting boards on a very large Wadkin cross cut saw :D, he pointed out another rack with boards just over 9' stood in it. 8) So here is the selected timber back in Sudbury.

Of course as I got the boards on a trolley to take them back to the car the heavens opened and running was out of the question, but the timber has survived the quick down pour, but I still have Yandles mud up the car and on my clogs. I had to break one of my rules of motoring, I used the M25 on a Friday evening, it was not a good idea the journey home took over 5 hours but I am set up with supplies for lots more projects now.
There are a few more pictures here along with some taken at Blisters bash.

Bugbear, yes you are correct.

I discovered that when I got home and do mention it in my write up here http://www.aldel.co.uk/Yandles08.htm.

David's version is much simpler though, hand held and wooden.
Probably different enough to avoid any legal problems.

A bit like all the other dovetail template systems.

I checked my Japanese saw and there is only 2" of blade below the backstrap so the dovetail cannot be cut very deeply, or can they?

DW: Japanese saw exist without the back 'strap'
