Those air-cleaner extractor thingyamebobs, are they worth having? Do they get a lot of fine dust out of the air?

Yes. Yes. Yes. It's unbelievable how quick the first filter gets clogged up, well not clogged but it sure collect crap quickly.

Cheers LN - I'm at the moment along with trying to sort out my storage looking at an inexpensive dust control, and quite a lot of people seem to have them, and now I know that they work, I'll add one to my list..

Byron, please dont take offence at this suggestion, but if you were to concentrate on finishing the internal cladding of your workshop, I feel this would open countless oppurtunities toward your storage problems ie full walls of empty space for either tool borads or shelving?storage units whichever path you decide to take.
Hard I know when you really want to be "producing" rather than sorting..

Ed, no offence I hope...actually rather envious of your workshop to be honest, and yes you probably wouldnt appear in the top 50 we all know the real culprits

and to all the others, some really nice shops to be proud about..

Neil - no offense in the slightest mate, the boarding out and 'finishing' of the workshop is the first thing I will be doing ahead of the storage, I've left it for far too long and it's so cold out there between november and march that I hardly want to be out there, so it's definitely my number one priority to get that part finished. In fact, I'm actually starting this weekend, so hopefully it won't be long before it's nice and toasty out there.

Byron , good to hear, lets how you have it warm and toasty for the oncome of next winter and all sorted..

Air cleaner thingamebobs, got to agree with LN, they are unbelievably effective looking at the amount of dust on the filter of mine its either there or covering everything else in the shop, and I know my preference.. :D

Will do Rob. I've neglected dust extraction for the last couple of years, but if i'm going to get this workshop sorted properly, then I'll definitely invest in an air-filter and decent extractor before any other purchases.

No offence taken, my post was made in good humour. :D

Now as to this top 50 of collectors, I'll leave that to Rob - I know he's itching to start it.

Cheers, Ed

Fair enoughski...I can see the gauntlet has been thrown down  I'll ponder some thoughts as to rules 'twixt now and the weekend and start a thread on Monday to run for a week. I'm off on leave 10-17 Feb (Malta) so will have no input, all entries will have to be posted between those dates and must include one photograph of the damning evidence. Obviously as judge and jury I won't be able to enter. Winner to recieve a Blokeblade marking knife or something similar? - Rob
