I became aware of this petition cruising uTube, I’m amazed how many people have signed and how quickly the number is increasing. I understand that within 24 hrs it’s amassed over 1 million signatures!! With just over 48 million voters the number dissatisfied is very concerning.

Yes I know loads of people signing it, many say enough is enough and that the country cannot survive five years of these clowns so put it back to the people, some labour members have torn up their membership as they are so unhappy.

I reckon it will be 1.5 million by tommorow and who knows by the end of the week but I cannot recall any government in this mess within just months of wining an election.

20m people voted other than for Labour just 5 months ago. I suspect they may all be potential petitioners + a few more who voted Labour and have been disappointed.

A completely pointless exercise - with an overwhelming majority we are blessed with, or stuck with, Sir Kier and his chums for the next 4 years.

It's taking some time for someone to post the opposing version, and as Labour is doing OK in the polls I suspect the numbers will be better for that one once it is inevitably up and running.

It's hardly a surprise that Reform can get a few hundred thousand people to sign up to this. Respect the vote the people have spoken forever, etc.

Polls

Since the election Labour -5%, Tory +2%, Reform +3%

Starmer approval rating down from 60% post election to 30% now.

There won't be an election for a few years so somewhat academic - but they will need to seriously up their game to get a second term - particularly if the Tories and Reform get their act together.

There was already a thread on this, it’s now in OT2. Go there if you want to continue discussing this.
