I need to reroof my 16' x 10' workshop - I've scoured the internet and it seems a torchon roofing felt would be best, applied dry rather than with a burner - can anybody kindly recommend the best value product and from what source please. Many thanks

EPDM. It's easier to apply (glue it with a paint roller straight on to OSB) and lasts way longer (60 years they say) and it may even be cheaper but I don't know about that. There's a few places (rubber4roofs spring to mind) that'll take your measurements and send you all you need for the job including any guttering and wotnot.

I've done 2 sheds with it... so anybody can do it without fear of not knowing what they're doing in advance 🤡

Whilst it's not what you asked for I'd go with steel panel roofing. Easy to fit and also easy to change in the future. You can't take felt off and reuse. Also (I haven't done a full lifecycle analysis and I know galvanisation isn't great but) I reckon it is more environmentally friendly as it can always be recycled or reused in the future and its not going to leak tar bits into your garden over the years.

EPDM or GRP.
For GRP and redoing an existing flat roof check out Restec Flexitec 2020. I can highly recommend it. It can be applied on top of any existing roof finish.

I’ve just done two buildings with EPDM from rubber4roofs. They weren’t difficult and there’s plenty of videos on YouTube. I built both these from steel galvanised frames from the ground up. Low maintenance and warm roof construction.
regards,
Dave
