I am going to build a stable door from American white oak this weekend (unless of course Fiji beat Wales tonight, in which case I will mope around all weekend in a black depression!!!). #-o

Nothing too difficult or startling there you may think. To make life more exciting, I am going to try and do it using only hand tools  (except a drill - I am not a masochist). ](*,)

We will see how my fledgling planing skills cope with a novice project before attempting something more ambitious. 8-[

I will let you know how I get on.

Regards

Gary

GOOD LUCK ! You may not find it chips to bad with hand planes etc but once you've found the grain direction the timber likes mark it as its very easy to get lost when you have lots of the same size pieces .
Will you be using rebate planes and moulding planes or are you leaving it square ?
