Cats are best.

Here's my girls, Pebbles and Gibby, both strays, rescued late last year. Gibs (tabby and white) was locked in a refrigerated trailer for 4 days and nearly died. She was only a few weeks old and totally feral. Pebs was born in a back garden and saved just before the foxes got her

I sure your little bundle of fluff will make just as good and loving a pet as my 2 'Angels'

PS. As the old saying goes... "Dogs have Masters, Cats have Slaves"

They're a couple of sweeties . . . . awww bless =D>

Nice project you have going on there. I am set to do the same type of thing in spring after the shed comes down (the cats current go to place). Mine has to be a bit bigger to accommodate a couple of cats at the same time (we have 3 of our own, one stray that has adopted us and another stray that aint actually a stray as i have seen her go into another house, the cheek of it haha)

Right then....quick update. Madam has now firmly taken up residence in the oak barn. Here she is. Roof ridge been bodged for the time being until I clear out the shed where the shingles are buried underneath several dozen gardening things over wintering.

Our cats love bread. Most mornings I give bread soaked in water to the chickens, and two of the cats follow me down to nick it before the chucks get there. The dog likes it too, his favourite is a completely dry french stick which he eats as though it was a bone. And they get plenty of other food, so it's not as if they're hungry, it's just greed.

That's interesting because the eating of bread was one of the factors that led me to conclude it was a stray! I hope I haven't just nicked one of the neighbours perfectly domesticated prize winning pedigrees :)

This is uncanny! About two years ago we started to feed a cat, which we named Baby Craig.

Do you think your cat is his cousin?
