The batteries on my tools (18v DeWalt li ion) stick just enough that I can often not get them off the tool or off the charger single handed, usually when I'm over reaching. Just enough to irritate. I was using spray PTFE for something and thought I wonder ... Yes! I sprayed the release buttons, slides and terminals of the batteries, tools and charger. Brilliant - they slip on and off with no resistance at all. :D
 
I find working in filthy chip and crisp frying factories keeps my Makita gear slick!

Please nobody switch from dry PTFE spray to WD40!! The latter is flammable and the risk of slight shorting tween terminals as you insert or remove is all too real!

And another one - I filled the dog holes on my bench with wine bottle corks. They save all the crud dropping through and if I need to use the hole they just push through and get replaced afterwards. :D
