Hi I'm new to the forum..I recently bought a second hand
Electra Beckum BAS 315 Bandsaw
Here is a link to the manual in PDF format.
http://rapidshare.de/files/45937033/Ele ... _.rar.html
Would advise anyone who has little or no experience with
saws to take someone who has with them..Above all try it out.
My mistake. Mine is not cutting true..Sure I will sort it out
but could have been a lot worse, and takes the fun out of buying one.

She is mine now with all her flaws....lol

Hog & bodge, buy a new blade for it, this should make quite a big difference. If the bandsaw has mainly been used for cutting curves this could be the main problem why it is not cutting straight now. Bandsaw blades tend to get a set on them if they are used for curves most of the time. A new blade should sort it out. HTH.

Hi mailee Was thinking along the same lines.
Do you know which brand of blade would fit my saw...??
When I picked it up it had a metal cutting blade fitted.
so changed it for an old blade that came with it.
Apart from the deviating blade I have always liked the E.B saw.
Brings back memorys from wood shop in school..

Thanks in advance for any help given..

I am afraid Dragon saws have just gone into receivership so they are out for the moment. I would give truecut a try. I am not sure if they have a website but you can find them advertising in the back of woodworking magazines. Maybe someone will be along who knows there address or phone number as I do not have any of the mags to hand at the moment. HTH.

Lol...You can see I am new to the forum...I have posted in a table saw
Thread...Sorry for stomping on this thread...
Thanks for all the great advice about my saw..am looking in to
Freud Pro Circular Saw Blade.
and looking on eBay to see if anyone has or is getting rid of a Dragon
blade.
Better shift my chat to the ban saw section..
Well to day was very productive managed to knock together
a stand for my pillar drill.

I am looking for a good table saw at the moment I have a German
all metal 110 volt one which keeps cutting out if the blade gets over worked
or the wood shifts of center... Not good..
I just got it to cut the chipboard loft boards...
Will take a pic and post it here..someone mught want it fro spairs.

If you are considering the Record TS200C I posted a review of mine here;

Martin.
Thanks for that extensive review..I must stop buying on impulse
as I have wasted a fair amount of money.
Not to worry, I like the look of the Record TS200C and the size is about
right for my small workshop.
It is getting time to stop thinking and get one bought.
Will reread you review again later on.

I've done it now so its too late.

I was very tempted by the Deft and after a quick call to Lyndhurst about removing the side extension I was almost ready to bite.... but as luck would have it a pal of mine came up with a far better offer this very day.

I am soon to be the happy recipient of a Scheppach 4010 ci. Its to be given a clean and a general tidy up but other than that its mine.

It will be a squeeze to get it into the workshop, but with a little re-jig of the workspace layout it should all turn out nice.

Its 155kg so will happily sit on the new floor - thankfully.

I have yet to actually carry it down to my garden, not looking forward to that bit too much.

Will post pics when the worksheds built and the saws in place. That may be some time!

You luck man, my friend has one of these and I was using it the other day. It cut through the cherry I had like knife butter etc. One thing though! He had bought a thin kerf blade for it which turned out to be thinnner than the riving knife, Check carefully before buying any new blades.

I've got the shed up almost, enough to move in the new TS, my scheppach 4010ci. This thing was HEAVY. My shoulders still hurt from having to inch the table down a small alley, up a few steps, over 2m of gravel and up onto my new shed floor:

Not had chance to set it all up, ive not even put a plug on the end of the power cord yet!

The sliding carriage is 2.1m long. Its way to long for me so i would like the smaller 1.4m(i think) carriage. Does anyone have or know someone who has one to swap with me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Out int shed,
I have been reading this topic with interest, I am looking forward to reading your review of the Sheppach saw table.

I am about to buy one myself, but I too am having trouble deciding.

I am looking at the Axminster AW12BSB2 315mm, or the Deft T50, but your new Sheppach looks great as well.

Graham

Hello Out int shed............

I see you are in Hull. That could be handy, I am in Wootton, t'other side of the river........and I have a Sheppach 2500 with a 1.4mtr sliding table setup that could be the donor machine for yours..........
Let me know........

Streepips, that sounds like a deal to me.

If the 2 carriages are the same fittings then I will happily swap my 2.1 for your 1.4

Its that or I face cutting through over 1/2 meter of solid alu- a prospect im dreading nearly as much as I did when it came to moving the saw itself!

As far as I know all fittings are interchangeable between the two models.
I have PM'd my mobile number so let me know when is convenient for you.

Quick update. The TS is brilliant. I got it in its final resting place which gives me 1mt (length) ripping capacity. It very easy to get an accurate cut and the micro adjuster on the fence is superb.
