A distant relative was born in Tynewydd - his dad was sinking a new coal pit there at the time. How do you pronounce Tynewydd?
a) tye-neh-with
b) tee-neh-with
c) something else ?
TIA W2S

b) is correct. The letter "e" is pronounced as in egg. And just to be precise, the "th" is pronounced as in the and not as in thin.
