yup..a rimmer lover :)

weird to need an ok for an image.

It's our spam trap. You need three posts before it will let you post links etc. Or a kindly mod comes along and releases you prematurely from the trap. :D

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. :D

If you have any kippers I'll eat some for breakfast.

As the other members have said your picture has been caught by our spam tram, here it is:

A bit more info would be useful, overall size, solid or in two as shown and what sort of wood or could it be MDF?
Do you just need one or are you looking for more than that and an idea of where you are is helpful.

DaveL - that's ACE Rimmer...

Rimmer (Arnold Judas), is more a hammond organ fan -got any music on tape AJ?... Do you make your own Camphor wood guitars...(R/D fans only)

Boys from the Dwarf! Sorry, fan myself if you couldn't tell.

Anyway AJ - your weblink could have been a direct link to p0rn, so it's best it's stopped (no - I'm not a moderator) and checked first.

Let us know (as requested) sizes, and wood type - we may have to set up a Dutch Auction... (oh, BTW - I do 'rustic' stuff compared to some who do 'top of the range')

stop putting the emphasis on "rim" in rimmer, you make me sound like a toilet cleaner

to answer the questions :

dont know what wood or sizes yet, will have to sit down and work it out using the images dice as a 16mm start point i need a dice to use as a measure, they come soon..

it would be in two pieces hinged at the edges, horizontally.

the board only exists in a pc game as a mini game,so thast image is all i have.

as for making them in bulk, well if it could be done cheaply and match the image exactly [hinges and inlays etc] then you could sell as many as you made because of the fan base for the game.
the dice are already available via a dice site and they are 35 euros a 10 set,so the finished item might cost a fair few quid.
then again theres already hundreds of fans going as far as to make the game characters clothing,so those alone would definitley buy one.

before the arthritis i would probably have a go at it myself, but age is a curse.

also havent checked if the dice game is in any way copyrighted as the designs from a game programmers/artists head.

I'd think there would be copyright on the dice case (being hinged?), IF you made it significantly like that.

IF, you, as a fan approached the game manufacturer and asked the question:-

"Can I make a wooden case to similar details as shown in the game?"

You may get an answer one way or the other... IF you don't ask, and don't show it to anyone, who'd know? But there again, why would you have one and not want to gloat over it? Other fans would see it at "conventions", and there could be trouble - not for you, but for the manufacturer - I'd be willing to have a go at something like that - but you never know with "ideas" people - it theirs; they'll fight to the death, OR, they're happy to let others have fun with it. You don't know till you ask (and they eventually give you an answer) - all taken from experience relating to a t-shirt idea for Terry Pratchett...

made a lilttle 3d version for a better idea of what the start blank would look like before all the decorating.

NICE! 8)

I'll see what my scrap wood turns into (I'm a butcher at it - it won't be pretty), are you thinking of a solid board for each half, or two pieces, laminated?
