Walnut bowl

Straight out of the workshop, punky in places but have managed to harden them up with a good dose of sander sealer(see last photo). Made from Walnut it has so much going on in the grain even some light feathering Finished with sander sealer and then buffed on a three wheel system

The tearout in the last photo is pretty impressive, Derek! Looks like a brilliant job of sorting it. What sealer did you use and how long did you have to leave it to harden?

Chestnut cellulose sander sealer thinned 50/50 with thinners kept applying it so it soak right in left over night and cut with freshly ground tools I did need to sharpen every other pass but got what I wanted as the pattern was just too good to loose. I took it off the lathe to do this in the photo the bowl is still in the chuck as I needed the lathe to work on another bowl. Luckily I have 4 chucks

That is what made the extra effort worth while. I have some more like this but will not know how soft they are until I start to turn them
