Wizer: At one point I was thinking about dubbing in the narration afterwards because I thought that would be the easiest way to eliminate the problem with background noise drowning out the vocals, but when I went to look for the microphone that came with one of my previous computers I was unable to locate it. If I can find a simple microphone I may try that, but the "big box" computer store I visited only had premium headsets that would be WAY overkill for all I want to do, at prices that were more than I wanted to spend when I wasn't even sure if it would work for my application.

Thanks again, all.

Bob

The video was excellent and surprisingly, with the camera you have, it looked good full screen on my computer.

My first impression was brilliant and I have not changed my mind.

Some more please.

Hi Bob,

Watched all the video clips on Friday night and was inspired to 'give it a go'.

The only problem I had was some chipping or breakout on the thin edges of the wings. Don't know if you've ever experienced this? Could be lathe too slow, tool not sharp enough or maybe the timber type? Whatever the problem I'll definitely be having another go as I was really happy with the overall shape.

I'd just like to say a quick 'thank you' for all your effort in posting the clips.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi, Neil:
One of the things I noticed when turning the boxes at the lathe's maximum speed instead of the lower speed I had been using was that there was less chip out on the edges. I can's say definitively whether that was solely due to the higher speed because I was also using a different wood species than I had been when turning the earlier ones.

Good Luck!
Bob

Hi Bob,

I made some time to watch these, thank you for spending the time to make and post them, they are great. 8)

I have put these on the list of things to have a go at once the new lathe is set up. :D
