I'm new to this game, so don't know if this will work ...... however.

I have a Viceroy TDS6SB short bed lathe and can turn between centres fine. The problem is that I do not have a face plate to fit the left hand side of the head shock. I believe it is a 1.5" 8 Tpi left hand thread. Does anybody know where I might be able to pick one up from?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think Axminster power tools, if they don't have it in stock maybe they would make up one for you.
Other wise a local engineer may do it. - this is always a good option.

The spindle carried a 1.5-inch diameter by 8 t.p.i thread on the right and a 1.25-inch by 9 t.p.i on the left.

.... just to make d*** sure you had to buy it from the makers. Who on earth thought of a 1.25 inch by 9tpi thread? If you do get one made, remember the one on the outboard side will be left hand thread too!
