20 and above your into needle files I think and a magnifying glass?

I have a Footprint dovetail saw sharpened with 20tpi cross-cut teeth, you can (with care) do it by eye/feel, maybe checking with a ten-times lens every now and again. Very time consuming, just because of how many teeth there are.

I just use the cheapest needle files I can get from machine mart, they're pretty much disposable at the price!

Paul Sellers recommends all saws filed across 90º rip pattern finer than* 9tpi (I think). Makes sense.

I have a partner for it in a fine kerfed gent's saw, filed 22 tpi rip. I like that keep that one crosscut filed for making fine cuts right up to the line, good for making fine tenons and especially mitered tenons.

I've got the Vertas saws...very nice birthday gift last year! :) I really like them, not being a strong hand tool woodworker yet. They worked very well for me right out of the box, allowing me to focus on my abilities and skill.
