Hi

Anyone know where I can get white venetian blinds in odd sizes?

I really want to fit them within the window opening, as (I think) it's neater. I didn't think a 1600mm wide blind was going to be that hard to find, but seems I'm wrong... The drop is 1260mm.

I know you can get them made bespoke, but best price I've got for that so far is £90(!!).

Thanks

We had some quite nice wooden ones from IKEA and you can just saw off the ends, up to a point.

John Lewis were completely fine for our Venetian blinds.

I see you mention a 1600mm wide blind, with a drop of 1260mm. I am a bit confused about the measurements for this type of product, as I want to order online some venetians and don't want to mess up. In this text I read online for example it says that they provide from 25mm to 63mm slat widths: Available in four different slat widths (25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 63mm) this natural product provides a warm and contemporary look to any room. Like its sister product the Venetian, a made to measure wooden blind is also extremely versatile and allows excellent light control as well as complete privacy. We have a wood colour to match any furniture and also now available in the ultra modern and funky gloss black and white. we also now offer the new and innovative privacy range exclusively to you, not readily available online.
Do I need to convert or something like this? I don't really get it, can anyone please help clarify things for me ? Thank you in advance!

Measure the width of your reveal and subtract 25mm to allow for clearance/wall out of plumb, etc. This gives you the width you want. It's a good idea to double check at the mid point and bottom of the reveal to ascertain that the plaster isn't too far out.
Measure the height of the reveal from plaster to windowboard. This is the drop you want.

You will find that the drop of a venetian blind is given as maximum drop. You can use a blind with a 1200mm drop on a reveal of only 1000mm, you'll just end up with a few blades bunched together on the bottom rail.

If ordering online, unless M2M, you will need to order the nearest width over your reveal size and trim to suit (instructions should be provided :!: ). For the drop, try to order a blind with a drop less than 250mm more than you need (mainly for aesthetic reasons but in some cases this may not be possible).

Example:

Window reveal 1350mm wide x 1625mm high. Order a blind 1500mm wide x 1800mm drop and trim on site.

If you're ordering M2M, just give them the reveal sizes without subtracting anything, they will do the rest.

+1 for that. As mentioned above, online made to measure companies e.g Blinds247 will make the necessary clearance allowances based on your accurate measurements.
To adapt a well known woodworking expression, "measure twice, order once." DAMHIKT !

when we ordered our vertical blinds we had them made to OUR measurements, so I assume the venetian blinds or wooden equivalents can also be made to your supplied measurements. try some of the local blinds suppliers.
