TV/Sat set up help

I know what I want but have no idea what it would be called?

I want to have our Sat receiver hidden away in a closed TV cabinet, obviously we wont be able to change channel with the cupboard doors shut, so is there an IR receiver that can sit descretley on the tv stand that I can run down to the box.

If you do a search on 'remote IR extender' you'll find a variety of offerings - the first on the list states

The sky magic eye (tool station) requires a cable from rf2 to your set and power turned on in rf2, instructions come with it. a connector with a power light is part of the unit and it works with the sky remote.

If you haven't got the cabinet already, smoked or frosted glass doors?

That should allow the IR signal to pass straight through.
