Personally I reckon it's a great idea... organic shapes and all that :wink:

I have seen this before and I, too, like the idea.

I would, perhaps, take it a stage further and make the piece into a useable object, e.g. a goblet (bit of a brainless idea, that :roll: ) or a lamp with a shade.

I suppose it would make a pleasant change to have a lump of wood with the shape of my face in it, rather than the other way around, which happened all too often when I was learning!!!
