Managed to knock my big Triton router off the bench yesterday. The concrete was unforgiving. It landed on it's head and seems to have damaged to speed controller. When I plug it in I get the power light but nothing happens when I switch it on. I replaced the speed controller out of my other Triton and it fired up. A replacement speed controller costs nearly £70. :? Don't know whether to go for a new router all together or replace the speed controller.

No one's got a dead Triton hanging around have they?

Bad luck mate, that is a real sickener. If you can find one of the B&Q £99 deals that have been posted on the forum regularly, I'd be tempted to go for a new one. If not Triton Tools is about the best I've found for parts and complete tools.

It's typical. Now the Workcentre is out of the workshop and I am waiting for the Jet to arrive, I was going to busy myself with a couple of router projects! I can use the one Triton between the table and HH but it's a faff. I might have a drive round the local b&q's but i'm prety sure they are all gone (bought by me :D ) Common sense tells me to just bite the bullet and get the spare part, but it hurts.. ;)

I've got a variety of bits and bobs, including a speed controller, vented black top cover, fine adjuster knob and spring cap. Let me know what you need and PM your mailing address.

Ray.

It seem Tritons may not bounce, but they can bounce back.

Ray sorted me out good and proper! The man is a true gent!

Tho, I probably shouldn't have popped into Timberline on the way back

Thanks Ray!

I think they heard my expletives in the next street ;)

What a gent you are Ray, this forum never ceases to amaze me with the help one gets.

Regards,

Rich.

Over the years I have acquired a habit, reflex really, of catching anything I drop on my foot.
One day...

Roy.

I used to do that Roy, until something heavy fell off the bench, and now I do the opposite. My children remarked the other day how quickly I move my feet when I drop a knife in the kitchen.
