A number of years ago I saw some American chappies doing some demonstrations at Cressing Temple. They were converting logs to beams and had some very robust looking trousers on. Being so inclined, I stored this away in my mind and recently found they could be found over here and bought some;

After a month or so they are doing very well. Very tough and very warm, plus, due to the double knees and lining you can kneel on concrete for short times without knee pads. (well, I can). Being cotton, they don't shrug off stuff like teflon coated polyester, but i'm sure I can live with that. They don't seem to rip when snagged with a sharp saw either. So far I'm very impressed and they're the best work trousers I've ever bought. The price is also relatively reasonable.

The only downside I can see is that they'll probably weigh a ton when wet, they're not particularly light when dry!

Not connected to the company in any way, just a happy customer.

They look really good Ross, just the thing for outdoor work/activity. Shall be trying a pair of those myself

Tommy from Arborwear UK has passed on a discount code for us to get 10% off;

Obviously, only for the likes of us who'll spend more than 1/6 for a pair of trousies, or don't want to pad them out with newspapers or the missus's tights to keep warm.

If you can't get the tights would it be OK to use the stockings and suspenders :?: #-o
