i'm with tom on this - and dont do it yourself unless you know what you are doing - felling something that size near houses is a pro job

Hi

I had a similiar size Sycamore removed last week, cut down to ground level and the stump poisoned, cost £200. I kept the logs for firewood other wise it would have been a bit more, it took two guys a couple of hours.

I would have done it myself but it was just a little too high for comfort and was close to a neighbours house (the reason it had to come down) and the road.

I had to get approval from council before the tree could could be removed.

Thanks for that Manny - Would we also need permission/approval???

I'm a bit bamboozled by TPO's

The tree is in a back garden, not visible from the road (if that's got owt to do with TPO's)

Thanks

Mark

Fell it and don't tell em. Once its down there is nowt they can do. Harsh perhaps, but sensible if you value you lawn and path and the rest of your garden.
