Mine is automatic too, here in Sunny Devon. As an aside,
I googled Clocks going fore and back, and it turns out, apparently to have been introduced by the Kaiser in 1916, after which we adopted it for the "Extra hour" soon after
I know, more useless crap for the pub quizz!

I saw this earlier...

And the worst thing is that it's only kept to suit the intercoursing Scots anyway. All the more reason to allow them to foxtrot oscar.

Hadrian had the right idea :D :D :D

I seem to recall reading that Scots or not Scots, there's a benefit to the electricity bills of most people (and thus an ecological benefit to society as a whole) from just not having to turn the lights on in the morning so much during the Winter.

Of course, you could effect the same benefit by either:
- Sticking with GMT all year around
or
- Stick with BST all year around and just have offices open at 10AM and close at 6PM during the Winter. Or all the time, I don't care.

The main advantage I can think of is many of us that do work, not travelling to work in the dark in the AM at
Around Christmas time.

Just to clarify, the Board Preferences setting is not automatic, and is not related to the local time setting on your pc ,mac, tablet, phone or internet-connected table saw.

Depends what time you go to work and where you live. Certainly for me I am enjoying a few weeks of morning daylight commuting but soon it'll be dark again as I walk to the station

Time change might be automatic on your computer but you still need to set/unset DST on this and many other forums

Phil,Robin,
What is your problem ? your comments sound like your bitter and racis

Peter
Not really - I just wonder why the whole of the south of England is disadvantaged to suit a tiny minority of people in the north. The whole idea of time changes goes back to a time when millions of people worked the land, anyway, which is no longer the case. I must admit to finding it odd that the Scots can be as insulting as they wish about English, and no one thinks twice about that, but the minute someone makes a derogatory comment about the Scots they're evil racists.

I don't think any Scots on here have been insulting English people have they ? I certainly would think twice about it
