These headlight 'cleaning' hacks....

I did also try the toothpaste method 1st but I think they were to far gone so lots of sanding down through the grades and wash down the crud with water , dry then the polishing-I wish I could recall the brand of upvc cleaner but . I just say whatever you use try it in a small area first .

What grit level would be good to start at?

I started at 1200 and kept going as above in think to 4 or 5000 . Wash down well in between each grade with clean water

I used wet and dry and then some paint rubbing compound as I happened to have some. It seems to me that on my headlights there was a coating that is crazing and has come off in places so I assume once this has gone then plastic then yellows further. Planning on trying a spray on protection at some point.
