People probably scoffed remote control when it came out too!

Worst thing that ever happened for commercial use. Hotels are perpetually trying to replace remotes that have disappeared in people's luggage (once they've been replaced with One For Alls the problem is even worse), or if the customer has resisted the temptation to nick the remote they often nick the batteries. Technology isn't always an improvement.

Where's Jacob??

Lanzarote, until 7 pm yesterday. Sitting on the beach and having the occasional swim, G&T, not thinking about woodwork, or anything much at all!
Brilliantly hot 2 weeks, one day of cloud and light drizzle.

Lucky you. Godawful place. Never again. Before I went I wondered why my friend called it "Lanzagrotty".

There are some grotty bits for the booze and snooze crowd - mainly Puerto del Carmen, but once you get away it's a very nice place.
