The forum may have had it's problem with arguments (which thankfully are happening less frequently) but smouldering just under the surface has always been the real sprit of UKWorkshop ,where members go above and beyond to help each other.
On most occasions this offer of help comes from someone you have never even met, and they do not do it for financial gain, all they want is help a fellow member with no strings attached.
So what has prompted this post? Well as some of you will know I got myself a giant of a Axminster Plus bandsaw a couple of weeks ago, and in a post I mentioned that when I put the saw together I would do a review, but as the thing was so heavy I was going to wait until I purchased a mobile base and then build it straight onto that. Then before I knew it John (Benchwayze) had contacted me and not only offered me a base, but would not accept anything for it
I have never met John but this morning a very well packed box appeared, and inside was not only the base but because he did not have the instructions, was a photo of how the base went together.
From talking to John I get the feeling that my personal thanks to him was good enough and he would not really want or expect this thread. But as I tried to explain to him, the forum has taken enough knocks lately and its about time that the other side of it is shown. The side that is here 99% of the time when we are not arguing.
So thanks John now I can start putting my bandsaw through it's paces, and along with Ian Johns blades do a review. (I hope that I get more interest in that then I have had in my head to head mitre gauge reviews  )
Anyway guys this is your chance to thank those others who have helped you in someway. It does not matter how they have done it, just as long as they have.
Cheers
Mike
