Made this piece the other way up to yesterdays so i would get more of the brown heartwood showing,so it is a more natural edge piece.
Took the inside out of this one using the Munro tool which made easy work of it,and gave a much better finish so less sanding was required :D :D
This one is 8" dia x 4" high finished with Food safe oil again.

Thank you Loz.Glad you like em :D
My tree surgeon friend has now got a load more of Apple in so i will be down their this weekend having a look :D

Very nice Paul, I think yesterdays one is slightly better seeing the two together, the dark wood at the top just looks smashing :D
How about a profile shot of the two? to see how the colouring looks from the side.
They are both very good work indeed and that oil finish really suits them 8)

Pretty Pretty Paul, prefer the conventional to the natural edge in this instance but either would stand its ground well in the company of others.

Both look really great Paul,

Apple has such lovely grain & colour variations, i hope the apple i picked up the other weekend turns out this good.

Thanks Chaps. :D
I was going to cut it down flat as the other one,but i just couldn't waste it away.Almost tried the bowl saver to save some of it
