... and no brass handles would not improve it, a dust sheet over it maybe!

Again, another comment on someone's work which is not only unkind, but unjustified. If a piece isn't liked by an individual, that's fair enough, but at least have the good grace to give reasons - Rob

Sgian Dubh,
No wasn`t joking, so I just googled Piet Mondrian and De stilj movement. I`m not that surprised we haven`t covered it as it was an art movement and I`m on a furniture making course, maybe at level 3 where design is looked in more detail? Martin Lane has no input into the course, he is an outside assessor, City & Guilds dictate the course structure.
Thanks for the explanation though, I like it when a discussion, book, article or whatever leads you somewhere and you discover something else, in this case totally off topic. Another example for me is watching a tv program called The Workshop That John Built, John interviewed Karl Holtey who I had not heard of at that time and David charlesworth, this led me on to read Davids books, which led me on to read James Krenov, which led me on to read David Pye and discover Peder Moos.

Regards, Mark

woodbloke,
Reading it back it was a harsh comment, in future I will be more careful, my thoughts and opinions are just that, mine. I would justify my comment but I do not wish to continue in a negative vain, I would just like to point out that it was
jhwbigley`s acerbic comment about brass handles which led to my comment. Enough said.

Mark, fair enoughski. I post some of my stuff on here and always welcome comments, either negative or positive as to my mind, it always helps see what errors you've made and to try not repeat them  :-" in the next piece. I agree, your views are your own, but I think it's always good to see why another thinks the way they do - Rob
