As we were ending the loading of the lorry Belle ( the lady selling all the kit asked if I would like something special and asked me to follow her as she had something to show me , and dragged this out from under her work bench

Belle explained that to tool chest was her granfathers and was a treasured item to her , but was unable to take it to her new flat due to lack of space

Belle then asked if I wanted it ?
Politly I replied I have no more money with me , Belle replied I dont want to sell it just pass it on to someone who will enjoy it
and as I had purchased all her other tools insisted I have it

Wow what a gesture by Belle

I am very chuffed with it is lovely :p

All I ca say is a big thanks to Belle

Ps , All the chisel handles are marked " G Eastwood , York "

Absolutely wonderful! =P~ =P~
There is something quite magical about an old set of craftsman's tools; makes you wonder what was made with them.
An amazingly generous gift given its provenance. She was right though in that to her they were priceless.
I'm sure you'll use it well.

Holy Nelly!

No point attracting you as a customer then - you've got the lot!

I reckon i might be able to help with the straight sawing problem for you though, if you want a chat drop me a PM.

Steve

It was her workshop not his

One very talented lady who went to art collage , then done glass blowing  moved on to turning as glass was too restrictive in the things she could do with it

Here is a link to her now defunked web site , it has a gallery so yo can see the things she made , I think they are verry good

Magnificent Allen, she might not be able to pick a good husband but she can certainly pick a good home for that lot. You'll get tennis elbow by the time you sharpen them up.

Hi Allen

That is a truly amazing windfall. So many collections like that are broken up and all traces of the craftsmen who used them are lost.

Enjoy your good fortune.

I'm not in the least bit jealous oh No No No. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
