I always leave the work in cramps over night and remove them the next day. I don't know how many boards you are using, but I'd glue up two at a time - much better than trying to glue up the whole table top in one go. And if you use shaped cramping blocks as in this picture, that counteracts any tendency for the sash cramps to bend (and they all bend) and directs the cramping pressure towards the centre of the edges, resulting in nice, tight joints

thanks for the replies.

will go with a double row but gonna stagger them.

gonna glue up in garage but will put a small fan heater on to help glue cure.

How long do I need to clamp them up for with PVA?

Andrew
In this sort of cold weather, any sort of heat you can direct towards the jointing area (but not a direct blast) to warm it up is of benefit, but as Paul says, leave the cramps on overnight just in case. In the Spring and Summer though an hour on two at most would be sufficient - Rob
