All sounds good Chubber, except the weather. I moved down south over ten years ago and it’s warmer in winter and cooler in summer than when I lived around the London area.
How far are you going to be from the border with England (apologies for not knowing the layout up there and I'm too damned lazy to look)? If near to Alnwick there is a Morrisons there, where you will be able to stock up on FDW (falling down water) at VERY reasonable prices! HTH
