My wife has a new phone and needs to swap her address book from one to the other

The old one is Nokia and the new one is Sony. Is there a piece of software available (obviously free!!) that allows this process to be automated.

We have the Nokia Pc suite thats fine for talking to Nokias but doesn't speak Sony.

Cheers

Tim

Can't you save to SIM, and then import from SIM on the other phone?

Adam

The last time I went from Nokia to Sony, I think i used MS-Outlook in the process.

Nokia-PC-Suite lets you get the contacts into MS Outlook
Sony Suite lets you get your outlook contacts onto the phone.

Hope that helps.

yes i'd agree with fecn. If you can export to Outlook on one phone and then import to the other. Should work relatively easily

Cable or Bluetooth to Outlook is the most reliable. Very handy if your phone gets dropped in the sea, gets put into the washing machine, stolen, lost, chewed by the dog, taken apart by kids etc. These have all happened at least once in our house and I learnt to store all my numbers on the PC. Doing the Sim transfer is ok if you've got less than, say, 100 numbers but they do tend to get separated if you have more than one field per contact.
You can find cheap (mostly OEM) on the 'bay. My last Nokia cable was 99p BIN + 2 quid postage as opposed to £20/30 odd elsewhere.

I'd go with Adams' suggestion as it's the easiest IMO.

Or you could bluetooth between the two phones if the option is there.

Make sure that you're transferring numbers stored in the phone as well as possibly in the SIM.

What i did last time was fit sim from old into new save into phone memory then fit new sim which may have greater capacity then save to new sim you can then choose to save to memory and/or sim

I really, really don't want to die and be reincarnated as a mobile phone in Noel's house... [-o<

The dog has calmed down a good bit on the chewing business but has recently developed a penchant for stealing my wife's smaller pair of underwear from the dryer rack and ripping them to bits. Poor girl has lost over 20 pairs over the last few months. Really strange, won't take anything else..

Noel, who is glad he doesn't wear skinny under garments....
