1948- Aluminium bed
1954- Cast iron bed

Anyhow I guess it’s not a deal breaker, they look straight and true after 70 years so they can’t be that bad. Just need my blades to turn up now to get it properly set up and tested.

Did you send to the place near Manchester for blades ?
They are cheap enough there

Got them from a place in Woodford, Cheshire. Worked out about £5 per blade including delivery. I’ve bought planer blades for the 12” Whitehead from here in the past and they’re decent for the money.
