I've just worked out that it was over 20 years ago now that we had an extension to the house built - the older teenage daughter was to get the bedroom in the extension and she asked if it was possible to get a built in terrarium for her snakes. The magic wand was waved and the snake tank was built - there was a large cavity behind one wall and it was easy to build into this. It's just a large wooden box.

Anyway it's been empty for many years and it's been decided that rather than fill the hole over, a bookshelf will be created out of it. Height is a bit lacking but I can get two rows of paperbacks out of it, particularly if I make the shelf of glass.

My question is on the supports for this shelf. I looked on Ebay for 'glass shelf supports' and found a wider range than I expected, and am consequently confused !! :?

The shelf is to be around 1100mm long and 150 wide - I can arrange a centre support but am I best to use the inexpensive pegs, or something a bit more engineered, for the back and ends of the shelf.

Thanks
Rob

There are some glass suppor6t pegs for sale on the For Sale section which may be of use?

Books are very heavy and with a span of over 1 meter I would be looking at min 2 supports to the front of the shelf. I wouldn't grumble at using pegs. 4 or more across the back and obviously 2 each side.
