Saw Stumpy nubs show off his new favourite way of sharpening. Once I got through all the drama involving a hammer I thought I could give it a makeshift go

Had some 8mm perspex and some 3m microfinishing PSA from scary sharpening

Used a circle jig on bandsaw

took me a while to find the best bolt
but results are pretty good, i do need to make a better tool rest for it.

Am going to reserve this for momentary touch ups.

Perspex is an acrylic if I remember.
It does love to shatter if misused.
At least it is bio compatible and stable, as surgeons found when they removed splinters of aircraft canopies from the eyes of WW2 pilots 40 years later.

I doubt the risk is very great but if it works for you, you might trade up to an aluminium or polycarbonate disc when you make the mk2 version.
