I've just started doing a bit of stone carving again, first time in years and all those years ago I was a member of a stone carving forum, whose name escapes me now. I've spent ages online trying to find it or something similar without success, so I'm wondering if anyone on here knows of such a thing?

A few forums (fora?) and newsgroups I belonged to years ago no longer exist and have been replaced by social media groups, like ones on Facebook. Much as I dislike all that stuff its sometimes useful so maybe have a search there. I'm told there are things called instgram and tic tok (a brand of mints?) as well.

Thanks Richard, I've never been one for all that social media stuff and something in me rebels at the thought of joining in, though I suppose this forum is just an old fashioned aspect of it. It makes me wonder how today's generation will react to the new media in 50 years or so - will they be as grumpy about it as I am about "myface" and all?

If you run a forum you need a server, owned or space rented, some connectivity, rudimentary security, a bit of tech know how, etc which cost money. You can set up a Facebook group in moments.

Can you use a VPN? Let your computer pretend it lives in America? I think I would reach out to them via the contact page and see if they either would allow you to join, or, were aware of other forums you may be able to join.
