A Friend is a dry stone wall builder, among other things. He has issues off finding good dressing hammers.
So when he can find old ones, he buys them.
Then I have to put them right.
All had damaged peins.
I removed all the heads. De rusted them.
Then reground the peins.
Each head was then Hardened and tempered.
One shaft had to be replaced.
So I cheated and brought one.
Each head was metal and wooden wedged to secure. Then a 2 pack resin was used to seal the ends.
Shafts were finished in french polish, then waxed.
