Made from Oak and decorated with acrylic artist paint on the inside and Ebonising spray on the outside It stand 6" X 3". I made a router jig and used that to produce both the upright and slots around the circumference. Three slots on one side and five on the other just felt right doing it this way
C & C welcome as always

It looks great Dalboy, design and finish. That looks a really useful jig - did you post any images of it in use that i've missed?

Thank you both for the comments.

Very well made - but it had just as well be piece of cast plastic.

I have left some grain showing through the paint which does not show that well in the photo

That is absolutely identical to my fitness roller - which incidentally is made of plastic.

Where do you think I got the idea from

Fair play, that’s an excellent piece of turning. Not sure I’d want to stretch my muscles over something with no give in it but there again, I wouldn’t be using my roller as a pot.

Thank you guys. I would not want to use it for rolling about on either.

Derek, The potential for your jig is enormous. You may recall I started a fluting thread a few years ago (https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/appl ... nd-indexer) that ran for too long. I have since developed several unique fluting systems with pleasing results. Attached (I hope) are some recent examples.

Don't know what happened but your link did not work. Regardless I still found it and remember reading it and some good work indeed, I had been thinking of making this jig for some time but like most things never got around to it until recently.
Hope you can attach some photos
