Silly computer

All of a sudden my computer keeps saying no disc in drive M, did not know I had a drive M.
Went to my computer and there it was drive M with my iPod now I have got my iPod pluged in so as to charge up but why dos it say no disc in M?

Is the ipod switched on.

The iPod is lit up and says do not disconnect for the last hour, is this be course it is charging?
Oh and the switch is not showing the red mark.
