Thanks Vann.

Nevil Shute Norway.
(He died in 1960 about 61 years of age.) Hence my remark about many forumites who know of him, giving away their age!

Hmm. I know of Mozart - I must be very old indeed!

BugBear

Hmmmm ...

I don't know about Mozart, but Ghengis Khan was a bit of a swine, I seem to recall. :)

It seems I have been misunderstood yet again. I must get to grips with the English language, and learn to express myself clearly and concisely!

Which was the NS book where the tail fell off the aircraft?...forgotten it (senior moment) Trustee from the Toolroom is another cracking read...haven't read it for yonks. The one with the nuclear war was scary as well (at least when I read it at about 15) - Rob

That was No Highway wasn't it ... engineering not quite right, as fatigue not as predictable as he had it with components failing spot on the 100,000th rev or at 26 hours and 14 mins or whatever it was ... but I remeber it as a good story I read as a teenager ...

Eerily, this foreshadowed similar problems with the 'Comet' airliner..

I wonder if Mosquitos suffered from Glue fatigue!
(Got to get the subject back on track to wood!)

Absolutely Rob

And we don't have Senior Moments'. We have 'Intellectual Intermissions'!

I got me a First Edition of Shute's 'Round The Bend' yesterday too!
So I am going for a trip down memory lane myself!

Regards
John :)
