So LOML has been going on about a better shoe rack
So i wanted to try out a few techniques for later on for better projects
Some worked some didnt end result was ok but some of it was a faf for not much benefit
So construction was 18mm hardwood ply and a mixture of pocket holes and half slot interlocks like those old wall ornament holders my nan had
Then i made a face frame of pine stained and varnished in what b and q called light oak whick looked more like yellow pine ( you live and learn)
I made the face frame using pocket holes had to make a jig to get repeatable joints
The face frame is fixed to the painted ply with glue and biscuits
Top is an old pine shelf i found in the reduced aisle and stained to match the face frame made a balls up and almost cut it too small so had to patch it
Last was a bit of architrave as i moulding for the base
The face frame was a faf i should have nailed it but i didnt want to see the fixings
And the half slot interlocking joints were a pain to cut and get spot on
Still it does the job
