I'm looking for a Shavehorse or shavehorse plans if anyone has one going? I have a very small workshop so knockdown would be ideal however I could possibly find somewhere for it outside under cover

.
You should be able to get a free download of the Veritas plans. I was going to make one. And, if I remember correctly, I was looking to make it all from a single ,new, oak sleeper. It might still happen- but not just yet. :giggle:

If you're light on space, try a shave pony, just clamps onto your bench and a simple build.

Or you could do a removable one for attaching to a sawbench or similar.

I am saving pics of shavehorses but I’m blowed if I can find them, but I do have this pic it’s my favourite up to now.
Apologies to the maker, I don’t know your name, but nicely done!

These plans used to be on a site called greenwoodworking run by Jennie alexander, who wrote from a tree to a chair

A 'Merc' level horse! Love the seat.
Watching them being used, it seems such a good fit to the job, I've often thought I'd like one, given room and use for one.

Here's mine I made from plans I posted, the frame and ramp are easily detachable and can be used as a roman bench

You beat me to it - was gonna post this one as well

I do like some of Rex's videos and ideas! Seems a genuine bloke...
However, I always smile when he trots out lines like "inexpensive" and "pick these up for a dollar or two"...
In this case, it's "simply" a 12x2 construction lumber, usually following "your local big box store..."

Well, good luck picking that up at Homebase or B&Q!

I nearly had a crack at his Roman bench a few years ago, but at any length, I simply haven't room for one! Yes, I could lean it against a shed wall, but then you'd have to keep dodging the legs all the time!
