Sharpening 12"saw blade.

hi all, i want to sharpen a 12" circular saw blade, does any one know of any good how to guides on-line which i can refer to.
I was thinking of getting a fine ezelap dimond stone and stroking the front of the tooth with it, is this the right method or would i be better off getting a softer sharpening stone? ie; green grinding stone or sandstone?

I have tickled up the teeth on a circular saw blade my self with a credit card sized diamond stone, its tricky takes a while to do, and can be done by your local saw sharpening service for about £10-15, which it what I do now.

I take mine to my local saw doctor. He charges between £4 and £8 and does a cracking job. It's not worth the faffing about to do it myself.

I was going to say the same thing. Two blades were about £10 for me. Where are you? The place that did mine is a few doors away from Axminster in High Wycombe.

I go to Stevens Saws in Worcester. They make my spindle cutters for me as well. Great place.

i`m in holsworthy devon, not alot happens around here, might have to research around for a blade `doctor`, but the credit card sized diamond stone sounds promising if no luck finding anyone.

If its a TCT saw blade go ahead......people like me love it when you guys try a bit of cost saving and end up ruining the blade .....cos we sell you a nice new one

seriously...use a saw doctor.
IIRC Brian Mills retired a few years ago.
you could try Western Saw & tools....used to be in Exeter
Allied tooling in Poole run vans over devon & cornwall.
I'll think of some others later....
