Hochbett and ladder.

How to secure the ladder against the 'hochbett' whilst also being able to move it out the way (or hang under the bed).
Opt1: rabbetted top rail that rests flush against the hochbett rail, hooked over resting on the 4x2 between the slats.
Opt2: still a top rail - but bolted through with some kind of handwheel fastening.

Hello, and welcome, How about some sort of "hooking" arangement, that will fit each side if the strings at the top, and also between the base slats.
This would stop sideways movement, fitting between the slats and the thickness, planted each side of the strings will line up in the appropriate spacing.
The hooking could be in, say 1/4" steel, for strength, but covered over with timber/ply for safety on sharp edges, or made in ply and glued or screwed each side.

Very nearly. Req something with 45mm inside width (those are 19mm). But that would be just the ticket.

No problem with lining up as the strings are in line with the openings between the slats.
