Having bought the axi aw12busby2 nearly a month ago, I had seen a digital fence readout at Allendale. Looked quite good and the second factor was the price. Quite sensible for a digi that will read upto 5 feet. So ordered over phone on Friday and the unit was in my hands Monday lunch time.
The two ali rails at the join that take the mag pickup strips
The fixing of the unit took the best part of the afternoon, but as you will see from the pictures I wanted it fixed properly. I drilled and taped two 6mm holes for each bracket that fix to the saw fence rail.
The right part of the bracket (4 in total) I had to supply so that the magnetic track didn't hit the fine adjuster on the fence ie lower its position.
Bottom bracket (supplied 4) fixed to the magnetic rail.
The digi read out bracket is then fixed to the fence and either side of the scale is a magnet which then holds onto the bracket. (simple and works well)
Read out of the unit. Can toggle between mm and inch.
Although it took a little time to fit and zero I fell that it was well worth buying. It comes into its own when changing cutting measurements often. Test measure with a rule is spot on every time. All for under £100....(forgetting my labour) The whole system is quite nicely out of the way but very useable.
Next purchase will be for a scaled digi for my Record PT300. Watch this space.
I have no connection with the supplier or manufacturer. Just feel that when you find a product that is good and has a sensible price harp about it
